Felon arrested in possession of a gun
Wichita Police arrested a felon in possession of a gun after he tried to ditch the vehicle in Haysville.
"A stolen car was spotted in the 1000 block West on 61st Street South about noon Monday," Lt. Joe Schroder said. "The vehicle was stopped and a female passenger exited the vehicle, but then the driver fled."
The suspect was arrested in Haysville, where a resident chased the man and held him until police arrived. He tried to ditch the car in the man's driveway.
A gun and ammunition was found by officers and a K-9 unit. The stolen car was returned to its rightful owner in Derby.
