Vehicle fire spreads to attached garage in Goddard
Fire caused heavy damage to an attached garage at a home in Goddard Tuesday evening.
Sedgwick County Fire Division Chief Larry Tangney said the fire started in a vehicle that was parked inside the garage at 410 West Richard.
"The resident had pulled it in and came back about a half hour later (and) the car was engulfed," Tangney said. "He had just driven it, so some type of mechanical issue, evidently."
Firefighters kept the flames from reaching the living area of the house. No one was hurt.
