Witness tossed from Reno County courtroom
A Reno County judge threw out a witness who was acting unruly during a murder trial on Tuesday.
The Hutchinson News reports that Robert Hill became upset while testifying in the trial of his cousin, Charles Logsdon, who is accused of killing housewife Jennifer Heckel in a case of mistaken identity.
Hill, who was dressed in an orange jumpsuit from the Harvey County Jail, repeatedly raised his voice and refused to answer questions. Judge Trish Rose finally ordered him removed.
A female witness had testified on Monday that Hill told her that Logsdon shot Heckel in the face.
Prosecutors say Logsdon and co-defendant Billy Joe Craig went to Heckel's home in a plot to rob a known drug dealer who resembled Heckel.
