Bombardier machinists get first strike checks
It is payday for striking machinists at Bombardier Learjet in Wichita.
The strike is in its fourth week. No strike talks are planned.
"It's all up to Learjet, but certainly with airplanes not moving, you're losing money," union spokesman Bob Wood said.
Machinists arrived at IAM headquarters on South Meridian Wednesday morning to receive a $350 check - $150 from the International Strike Fund and $200 from the Light Aircraft Steering Committee Fund, a local Machinists Union Fund.
Union members will receive a strike check and food box each week until the strike is over.
