Reginald Dupree gets life in prison for Wichita homicide
(AP) A Wichita man is sentenced to life in prison plus more than 10 years for his role in a shooting death during a robbery.
Reginald Dupree was sentenced Thursday for first-degree murder and six other felonies in the death last December of 19-year-old Markez Phillips.
Prosecutors said Phillips was visiting his girlfriend at her home in Oaklawn when Dupree and another man, Malek Brown, forced their way in. One of the men shot Phillips. They got away with three televisions but no money.
Dupree's lawyer argued during the trial in September that his client was at the home but did not know anyone was going to be robbed or shot. Three other men were also charged in Phillips' death.
