Man dies after he is struck by car
The Wichita Police Critical Accident Team is investigating a fatal accident that happened around 7 p.m. Friday near the intersection of 17th and N. Piatt.
Wichita Police Sgt. Don Story said a man, believed to be in his late 50s to early 60s, was hit by a vehicle traveling east on 17th. Police are investigating whether any westbound vehicles hit the man before he came to rest.
Authorities said high speeds do not appear to be a factor in the accident. Police are working to identify the victim.
