19-year-old woman critically injured in accident
The Butler County Sheriff's Office is investigating a single vehicle accident that sent a 19-year-old Rose Hill woman to a Wichita hospital in critical condition.
The accident happened around 3:45 a.m. Saturday on SW 170th about 1 mile east of Butler Road near Rose Hill.
Butler County Sheriff's Dep. Randy Morgan said speed appeared to be a factor in the accident, which occurred on a gravel road.
"Looks like she was going too fast for the conditions, hit some washboards and lost control and struck a tree," Morgan said.
The woman was driving a 2002 Ford Sport Trac SUV. Morgan said the woman was in and out of consciousness when he had contact with her.
