Guilty verdict returned in Hutchinson murder case
A Reno County jury returned a guilty verdict Friday in the trial of a man accused of killing a Hutchinson housewife. Christopher Logsdon was convicted of first degree murder for the June 14, 2011 shooting death of 27-year-old Jennifer Heckel in her home.
Our news partners at KWCH, Channel 12 report that after the verdict was read, Logsdon jumped up and yelled that he did not commit the crime.
Logsdon was also convicted of conspiracy to commit murder, aggravated robbery, conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery, a firearms charge and a charge of intimidating a witness.
Prosecutors said Logsdon thought Heckel was someone else - a woman who owed him drug money. A second suspect, Billy Joe Craig, Jr., is scheduled for trial in January.
