YMCA coat drive needs your help
The Greater Wichita YMCA wants your help with donations to its ninth annual Coat Drive.
A spokeswoman said area families can help those in need by donating gently used coats and winter items (gloves, mittens, hats and scarves) through Monday, Nov. 19. The drop-off sites are at YMCA locations in Wichita, Andover and El Dorado.
Coats and winter items will be distributed during the 35th annual We Care Thanksgiving Dinner Wednesday, Nov. 21 at the Downtown YMCA, 402 N. Market. Organizers expect to serve about 2,000 dinners to needy families.
It will be the last dinner in the more than 50-year-old building. In 2013, the tradition will continue in the new facility.
