House fire causes $60,000 in damage in south Wichita
No people were hurt in a house fire in the 2900 block of S. Millwood, but it killed a family's dog.
The fire started in the home just before 1 p.m. The cause is still under investigation.
"We were able to get inside and get it under control," said Wichita Fire Department Battalion Chief Tom Carney. "Crews did a really good job of getting it knocked down quick. "
Carney said there was $40,000 in damage to the home, and another $20,000 to contents inside it.
