A retired Air Force pilot talked about his experiences flying Air Force One for President George W. Bush during a speaking appearance Monday in Wichita.

Colonel Mark Tillman flew Air Force One during President Bush's two terms in office, from 2001 to 2009. He was the speaker for a luncheon meeting of the Wichita Aero Club.

Tillman talked about the heavy security and the secrecy involved in flying Air Force One, especially with the secret trips Bush took to Iraq to meet with American troops.

In the audio clip below, Colonel Tillman talks about a cover story arranged for Bush's first trip to Baghdad in 2003, involving a USO flight with country music stars. Tillman said he got a call that the clearance for the trip had been canceled.
