Teenager shot in northeast Wichita
A teenager was taken to Wesley Medical Center after being shot in the thigh near 13th and Volutsia Monday afternoon.
"We had an 18-year-old male victim that apparently was shot by some other individual - unknown to us at this time, and unknown to the victim," said Wichita Police Sgt. Ed Brower. "There were two other people that were with (the shooter) at the time. They both fled the scene.
Lieutenant Doug Nolte said the victim reported that he was arguing with a woman in her 20's, when her companion, a man in his 30's, pulled out a gun and fired. The victim was taken to a hospital where he was treated and later released for a wound to his left thigh.
Nolte said there were 2 other people who were not involved in the shooting, but they left with the woman and the gunman in a dark-colored SUV.
