2 arrested after south Wichita chase
Wichita Police arrested two people after a chase through south Wichita early Wednesday.
The chase began around 12:30 a.m. when officers tried to stop a 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass for traffic violations. The vehicle sped away, and officers used spike sticks to try to stop the vehicle, but that was unsuccessful.
Lieutenant Doug Nolte said the chase ended at Kincaid and Santa Fe, when the 25-year-old driver jumped out and tried to run away. He was chased down and caught. He was booked into jail on 19 traffic counts, as well as evade and elude charges.
A 48-year-old woman who was a passenger in the car was taken into custody for warrants in an unrelated case.
