New phone app shows recycling locations in Kansas
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has launched a new app to help Kansans find recycling locations in their areas.
The "Kansas Recycles" app is launched for the iPhone and iPad. It will be available on other smartphone operating systems in 2013. The app was created in conjunction with the Kansas Organization of Recyclers.
The announcement coincides with America Recycles Day, set for Nov. 15.
"The Kansas Recycles app is a great tool to help Kansans identify recycling locations across the state," said Bill Bider, KDHE Bureau of Waste Management Director.
The app also includes a news and photo section, as well as a platform to submit suggestions and recycling location updates.
