Goddard High School gets $5,000 grant
Goddard High School is one of five recipients of a $5,000 grant from Walden University's "2012 Educator for a Day" program.
Goddard High will use the funding to create Parent University, a program for parents to learn how to prepare their children for college and help with homework.
The announcement came in conjunction with "A Day in the Life of Educators" at Goddard, where students interested in becoming an educator can "shadow" a teacher for a day.
Other grant winners are Kilmer Center School in Vienna, Va., Kumeyaay Elementary School in San Diego, Dulaney High School in Timonium, Md. and Dwight D. Eisenhower Middle School in Laurel, Md.
Walden University is located in Minneapolis, Minn.
