Fire rips through two car garage into house
Two luxury cars were inside a ranch style home's garage that was gutted by fire Friday.
The blaze in the 9300 block of east Pebblebrook was reported around 12:30 p.m. A woman was home alone at the time.
"She thought she smelled smoke," said Battalion Chief Joe Bickel. "She opened up the garage door. That's when she saw the flames in the garage."
The fire destroyed a Cadillac and an Infinity automobile, then burned into the living area, which caused a lot of smoke and heat damage.
"We're looking at very extensive damage on this," Bickel said. "Probably somewhere in the $120,000 to $150,000 on the house and another $80,000 to $90,000 on the contents."
No one was hurt. It first appeared as though the fire may have started in one of the vehicles, but that was not immediately confirmed.
