Text message scam making the rounds
A text message scam is making the rounds in south central Kansas. Residents are receiving a text message saying there is an issue with their bank account.
They're asked to call a number where they reach an automated system. The system tries to get the caller to enter their bank card number and other information.
The phone number is (561) 232-3007, but it's possible other numbers are in use. Hutchinson Police say it is a scam and not to call the number.
Instead, contact the bank or card issuer directly if you have any questions.
