Man accidently shoots himself in his car in southeast Wichita
A 33-year-old man was taken to a hospital Sunday afternoon after he accidentally shot himself while sitting in his car in southeast Wichita.
Wichita Police Lt. Doug Nolte said officers were called to Via Christi Hospital on Harry, and they talked to a man who had gunshot wounds to his right hand and right leg. They went to the 5900 block of E. Zimmerly, where they talked to a witness and then discovered the car.
Nolte said the shooting victim has a felony record. Police are investigating to determine if he will face charges for possession of a firearm.
