Victim identified in fatal pedestrian accident southwest of Wichita
Sedgwick County sheriff's investigators have identified the victim as of a fatal accident in southwest Wichita as 52-year-old Beatrice Ritchie. She was struck by a pickup near 55th Street South and 167th Street West.
Investigators said Ritchie and her husband were walking their dog on the evening of Nov. 21 when a pickup struck and killed Ritchie and the dog. Her husband was not hurt.
Sheriff's deputies said the driver, a 28-year-old Wichita man, did not see the couple in time to avoid the accident.
