Police take 4 children into protective custody
Wichita police took four children into protective custody late Monday after an elementary school principal reported a bruise on the face of a 6-year-old student.
Lieutenant Doug Nolte said the report was made at Dodge Elementary School. He said the girl had an explanation for the bruise, but the principal suspected possible abuse.
Nolte said officers went to a home and took the 6-year-old girl into protective custody, along with a 5-year-old girl and two boys, ages 4 and 7. No arrests have been made, and the case is being investigated by the Exploited and Missing Child Unit.
