Many Powerball winners live in Kansas
One of the two winning Powerball tickets for an estimated $587.5 million jackpot was sold at a convenience store in Dearborn, Mo., 35 miles north of Kansas City. The Missouri Lottery says the winner has not yet come forward to claim the record prize, but there is no rush. The winner has 180 days to do so.
The other winning Powerball ticket was sold in Arizona. The winning numbers are 5-16-22-23-29 with a Powerball 6.
Six tickets sold in Kansas for the record-breaking drawing are each worth $10,000 after matching four of the first five numbers, plus the Powerball.
Four of the $10,000 tickets were sold in northeast Kansas and two were sold in south central Kansas.
The total number of Powerball tickets sold in Kansas for the Nov.28 drawing was more than $5.4 million.
The Kansas Lottery said there were a total of 84,088 Kansas winners in the Wednesday night drawing.
