2 men questioned in El Dorado shooting incident
Police in El Dorado have questioned two men after a shooting incident early Friday morning at an apartment complex.
The shooting was reported around 1 a.m. at the Villas At Butler apartments in the 700 block of South Haverhill after two groups of people got into a confrontation. An 18-year-old Butler Community College student was taken to a hospital with a leg injury. He was treated and released.
A 23-year-old Wichita man was taken into custody at a home in Wichita around noon, and a 21-year-old El Dorado man turned himself in for questioning. Police have not identified the gunman responsible for the shooting, and the investigation continues.
A stray bullet struck a nearby home, but no one was hurt. Bullets also struck buildings and parked cars in the apartment complex.

A Butler Community College student was treated and released for a gun shot wound to the leg.
In a news release, police said it happened during an on-going altercation between two groups of young people about 1 a.m. at the Villas at the Butler apartments in the 700 block of south Haverhill Road. The student originally was listed in serious condition.
Police were also called to a nearby neighborhood where a family claimed their home was struck by a bullet. Police said it is believed to be a stray bullet from the incident that occurred at the apartment complex. No one from the home was injured.
Police said no names of the people involved will be released pending search and arrest warrants for material witnesses and evidence of the assault pending further investigation. The release stated El Dorado Police officers remain on the scene and continue to develop information through questioning witnesses.
