Wichita youngster taken into protective custody after BB shooting
Wichita police took a 12-year-old boy into protective custody on Wednesday after he accidentally shot himself in the head with a BB gun. The incident happened in the 1700 block of North Minneapolis.
Our news partners at KWCH, Channel 12 are reporting that the boy's father tried to remove the BB with a knife, but he failed and then took the boy to a hospital on Thursday. The boy was treated and released and then placed into protective custody.
Police are still looking into the incident. No arrests have been made.
