Drunk driver crashes car while eluding police
An officer narrowly escaped getting run over by a drunk driver he was trying to stop. The incident happened in the 2400 block of North Estelle around 11 p.m. Friday.
Wichita Police Sgt. Bruce Watts said the suspect got away and crashed a short time later. The man was taken to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis with a broken neck.
The officer was not hurt.
