Co-owner of local health care business sentenced
Betty Lessard, the co-owner of ProActive Health Care, was sentenced to six months of house arrest Monday.
Her husband, Gerard, was sentenced earlier in the year to six months of community confinement and six months of house arrest.
Both were sentenced to each pay more than $692,000 in restitution and are banned from doing business with Medicare.
According to court documents, the Lessard's admitted to filing a tax return in October 2005 and not reporting more than $858,000 in income for 2004.
