Police investigate south Wichita shooting
Wichita police are looking into a south side shooting incident that was reported late Wednesday night. A 22-year-old man was taken to a hospital with wounds to his side and his leg that were not considered serious, and he told officers that he was walking in the 1600 block of East Tulsa when someone fired shots at him. He said he didn't know the gunman.
Lieutenant Doug Nolte said the victim is a known gang member, and officers found evidence of a shooting and a disturbance on East Tulsa, but it's not clear what happened. He says anyone with information on the shooting should call Crime Stoppers at 267-2111.
