Butler County home damaged by fire

One person suffered minor burns during a single story house fire in Butler County.
It happened around 6 a.m. Monday in the 11,000 block of SW Thunder Road, near Augusta.
"The homeowner was awakened by smoke and flames and called the fire department," Augusta department of public safety chief Tyler Brewer said.
The home received extensive damage.
"The fire got into the attic, where there were a lot of boxes stacked and we couldn't get where we needed to go," Brewer said.
Crews remain on scene watching for hot spots. The cause and damage estimate are not known at this time. Firefighters from Andover and Douglas also responded to the scene.
