Homeowner shoots man in his garage
A 31-year-old man is in serious condition at Wesley Medical Center after he was shot by a homeowner in Sumner County.
The shooting occurred in rural Mulvane.
A news release from the Sumner County Sheriff said a man was awakened around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday and found someone in his garage. The homeowner held the suspect at gunpoint while his wife called 911. The sheriffs office said the burglar attacked the homeowner and a shot was fired.
The Eagle Med helicopter took the man to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the upper chest. The homeowner was interviewed and released.
Mulvane Police assisted the sheriffs office in the investigation.
