Brick shatters windshield on I-135
A family of four from Wichita has minor cuts after someone dropped a brick from a bridge onto their car as it was headed south on I-135.
The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. A 34-year-old man, a 24-year-old woman and their two young children were inside the vehicle.
Police Lt. Joe Schroeder said the incident was not just a prank. It was a case of aggravated battery, which is a felony.
"We've had people killed by people dropping things off of the overpasses and the pedestrian bridges," Schroeder said. "In other jurisdictions, they've actually had people charged with murder."
The boy who dropped the brick is described as a white teenager, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, carrying a black backpack and riding a silver bicycle.
