Eastborough Chief to become Sedgwick County Undersheriff
The chief of police in the small community of Eastborough in east Wichita is resigning Friday to become Sedgwick County Undersheriff.
Danny Bardezbain has been the police chief in Eastborough for three years and three months.
The 59-year-old law enforcement veteran returns to the sheriffs office after spending 32 years there, rising as high in rank as major before leaving the department over six years ago.
Wichita Police Captain Jeff Easter defeated the current Sedgwick County Sheriff Bob Hinshaw in the August primary election. Easter takes over Saturday.
A committee has been formed in Eastborough to accept applications for a new police chief.
