Shooting in south Wichita kills one, leaves another critical
One person is dead and another is in critical condition after being shot in a home around 10 p.m. in the 2200 block of East 53rd Street South.
"911 dispatch received a call from a man saying that his adult daughter had just called him, claiming she had shot her husband," said Wichita Police Lt. Chris Halloran. "Officers responded within minutes, and upon knocking on the door, heard one more gunshot, so they forced entry and found two people in the house that had received gunshot wounds."
Both victims were in their 30s. Halloran did not say who shot who, or which person was dead.
Halloran said a gun was found in the home, but did not know if it was the one used in the shootings. He did not know what led up to the shooting.
"We're still talking to neighbors and family members, and we'll go from there," Halloran said.
