A 20-year-old woman was ejected from the vehicle she riding in after it hit a concrete barrier and struck a tree early Saturday morning.

The one-vehicle accident happened near Central and Bluff in east Wichita. Speed and alcohol are thought to be factors in the crash.

"We believe there were atleast two other people inside the vehicle that left the scene on foot, leaving the vehicle and the 20-year-old woman behind," said Wichita Police Sgt. Scott Brunow.

The woman was taken to Wesley Medical Center for treatment of  "numerous broken bones" in the crash.

There is no word on the condition of the other two passengers. Brunow said police do have a tentative description of the driver of the vehicle, but didn't offer any additional information.
