Wichita woman robbed while trying to buy a "TV set"
Police are looking for a gunman who robbed a north Wichita woman under the pretext of selling a big screen television set. It happened Saturday afternoon in the 1500 block of North Gentry.
Lieutenant Doug Nolte said the woman's husband was in the parking lot of a northeast Wichita convenience store when he was approached by a man carrying a TV who wanted to sell it. The woman arranged for the man to come to her home on Gentry, and he then pulled a gun and took cash from her. He left behind the TV, which Nolte said was either a fake TV or a set that was not working.
No one was hurt, and the robber was described as an African American man around 25 years of age, 5 feet 9, 240 pounds, wearing all black clothing. He was driving a red and white Ford or Dodge pickup.
