A drug bust took place in Arkansas City.

It happened in the 100 block of North A Street Tuesday after a car stop. Chief of Police Sean Wallace said an officer spotted a woman driving a car, who had failed to appear in Arkansas City Municipal Court. Kassi McBride was stopped and arrested. During the car stop, a K-9 search resulted in drugs found in the car's consol and a passenger, Christopher Butt, was taken into custody.

Chief  Wallace said information gathered during the traffic stop led officers to the America's Best Value Inn, where Ramon Martinez and Karli McBride were found in a room along with more drugs. Police had to get another search warrant because McBride denied officers consent to search her room. All were taken to Cowley County Jail.

McBride and Martinez were taken into custody for suspicion of possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell within 1000 feet of a school, possession of drug use paraphernalia, possession of drug sales paraphernalia, no drug tax stamp and use of a communication device to arrange a drug sale.
