Police identify victims of fatal crash
A witness spotted what turned out to be a double fatal one-car rollover crash in west Wichita.
"As soon as the car went around the witness here, they observed what appeared to be blue lights or streak of something, as apparently the vehicle struck a telephone pole, and from there it rolled over," said Wichita Police Lt. Mike Hennessy.
The 21-year-old driver, Marcus McClellan of Wichita, was dead at the scene, while a 22-year-old passenger, Devan Krausch of Wichita, died of his injuries at Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis. The accident happened about 2:40 a.m. Thursday on 13th Street North near 135th Street West.
Police believe high speed may have been a factor in the crash. The posted speed limit is 40 mph.
The westbound vehicle was damaged beyond recognition.
