Thin, grey smoke hovered above the metal sheets that marked the remains of a garage near Skinner and Broadway in south Wichita.
Firefighters focused on keeping the flames from spreading to a home to the north after responding to the call around 7 a.m. Sunday.
"Power lines were involved by the fire, but there were no downed power lines," said Wichita Fire Department Lt. Scott Trask. "Nobody was hurt."
The garage and a car inside were destroyed. Trask said there was about $15,000 in damage.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
