It comes after a late start and apology following the last snow storm. City crews are applying salt and sand mixes on the streets and plowing snow where necessary. The city will monitor the weather and the road conditions throughout the day and evening.

 

The National Weather Service is forecasting precipitation through the morning of New Year’s Day, with a total daytime snow accumulation of less than one inch. Additional snow may accumulate during the evening and early morning hours. Snow and freezing drizzle may continue through midnight.

 

The Wichita Police Department is urging motorists to use extreme caution when traveling throughout the remainder of the holiday period.
