Wichita police identify murder-suicide victims
Wichita Police say a 39-year-old Wichita man shot and killed his grandparents and then killed himself.
The bodies of Adrian Urbano, 77-year-old Daryle Ellis and 78-year-old Bertha Ellis were found Saturday in an apartment at 337 North Ash.
Lieutenant Scott Heimerman said evidence, including a handgun, was found at the scene to indicate that Urbano was the gunman. He said detectives have an idea on the motive, but that is not being released.
Heimerman said the residence was a house divided into two apartments, and the resident of the basement unit heard a disturbance upstairs Thursday evening. The resident became concerned when he didn't see anyone upstairs, so he called a friend Saturday and they looked into the apartment and saw a body on the floor.
The murders of the Ellises bring the city's homicide rate to 28 for 2012.
