Wichita police officers heard a shot in the Old Town district on New Year's Day, but no one was hurt, no damage was found and it's unclear who fired the shot.

Officers heard the shot around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of North Mosley, and they saw several people running from a parking garage. Officers detained several people, including some known gang members, but there was no evidence to connect them with the shot.

Police have stepped up enforcement activities in Old Town after several shooting incidents that happened last year.
