Firefighters win Red Cross blood competition
Wichita and Sedgwick County firefighters have won the annual Battle of the Badges blood drive sponsored by the American Red Cross. The winning side was announced Thursday at a luncheon at the Red Cross blood center in downtown Wichita.
Red Cross spokesperson Jennifer Keller said the drive collected 1,341 pints, just 19 short of its goal. She said firefighters have won the competition 10 times, while law enforcement has won 8 times.
