Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office releases name of crash victim
The town of Halstead is mourning the loss of a child after a crash near Wichita.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office said 3-year-old Dyron Shutte of Halstead died of his injuries at the hospital from the accident at 53rd Street North and 119th Street West.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a northbound Chevrolet minivan failed to stop for the red signal light and was struck in the intersection by a westbound Kenworth semi truck.
The driver of the minivan, 30-year-old Diana Shutte, and her daughter, 9-month-old Drianna, remain in the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the semi, 62-year-old Perry White, was not hurt.
A news release states the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
