Pay raise approved for Wichita city manager
The Wichita City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to provide an 8 percent pay raise for city manager Robert Layton. The pay raise was part of Layton's contract when he was hired four years ago, but it was delayed due to economic and financial considerations.
Council members praised Layton for his accomplishments during the past four years, and Layton expressed thanks to the council and to city staff for their support.
The pay raise will be an additional $15,000 a year.
