Pedestrian fatally struck by vehicle in downtown Wichita
A man died after he was struck by a car on Broadway, south of Second Street.
Police Sgt. Dave Armstrong said the man crossed illegally at about 6:25 p.m. Tuesday, when it was dark outside.
"The motorist didn't see the pedestrian," Armstrong said.
The man, who was believed to be 80-years-old, was transported to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis, where he died. Officers were working on verifying the man's identity, who they believe was a Wichita resident.
The driver was not hurt.
