A film school opens in Wichita later this month to provide classes and programs for 3-D animation, digital filmmaking, audio production and web design. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Friday for Bethany College at MindFire Academy at 3805 East Harry, in the former Wichita Mall building where Office This is now located.

MindFire administrator Jason Opat said the school will offer accredited courses, and students will earn certificates by completing four or five seven-week class sessions. Opat said the students will earn credit hours that can be transferred to other colleges to continue their education.

The school will have open house events on Jan. 13 and Jan. 20 from 2 to 5 p.m. Classes will begin on Jan. 28.
