Gaston trial delayed
The first degree murder trial for Zachary Gaston has been delayed. The trial was supposed to start this morning in Sedgwick County District Court.
A new trial date has not been set. The reason for the delay is not known.
Gaston is accused of firing a bullet that passed through the wall of a mobile home Sept. 4 in the 3000 block of South Broadway and killed 8-year-old Kimbra Moore while she slept.
At the conclusion of a preliminary hearing on Nov. 20, Sedgwick County District Judge Clark Owens bound the 24-year-old Gaston over for trial on charges of first degree murder, aggravated battery, criminal discharge of a firearm at an occupied vehicle and criminal possession of a firearm by a felon.
