The owner of a strip mall plans to remodel after a small fire left extensive smoke damage inside an Northrock Office Park building.
Firefighters were sent to 8200 East 34th Street North at Letus Direct Offices just after 6 a.m. Tuesday, northeast of K-96 and Rock Road. Smoke could be seen by firefighters arriving on the scene.
The small fire had been burning for a while and smoke spread throughout the building. Damage was estimated at $300,000. No one was inside the building at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
