Apartment fire reported in north Wichita
Firefighters were battling smoke and flames at a one-story apartment building in north Wichita. The fire was reported just after 5 p.m. in the 1400 block of North Kansas.
The building is a four-plex apartment building. Crews checked out reports that a homeless person might be inside one of the units. No one was found in a search of the four apartments.
