3 face federal charges for attempted meth sale in Wichita
Federal charges have been filed against three people from Wichita who are accused of trying to sell methamphetamine to an undercover police officer. They were arrested outside Towne West Square on Jan. 9.
A charge of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine has been filed against 40-year-old Jesus Ibarra-Diaz, 20-year-old Ana Valeriano-Trejo and 30-year-old Ricardo Estrada.
The U.S. Attorney's office said the three had arranged to sell one pound of meth for $18,000. Police found another pound of meth at a home in the 700 block of West 46th Street North, where two of the suspects were living.
If convicted, the three could each face up to 40 years in federal prison and a fine up to $2 million.
