It looked a lot worse than it could have been. Wichita Police said a car collided with an SUV in rush hour traffic on Edgemoor at Boston. It happened just after 8 a.m. Thursday.

Sergeant James Krok said two Wichita Southeast High School students were in a northbound car that made a left turn into a southbound SUV. It was first believed one student had serious injuries.

Southeast Principal Leroy Parks said one student had head and neck injuries. The student was downgraded from serious to good condition. The driver of the SUV was not hurt, but a passenger had minor injuries.

Sedgwick County EMS transported three patients to Via Christi St. Joseph Hospital for treatment. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
