Nitride Solutions earns development grant from Wichita State
Nitride Solutions is getting a development grant from Wichita State University's Center for Innovation and Enterprise Engagement.
The Wichita company will use the funding to develop aluminum nitride substrates for power electronics on hybrid vehicles, ultraviolet light-emitting diodes for air and water purification and ultraviolet laser diodes for high-capacity Blu-Ray DVD players.
WSU's CIEE was awarded $2 million in September 2011 as part of the Obama administration's Jobs and Innovation Challenge. WSU has provided 11 local enterprises and two faculty innovators with grants ranging from $20,000 to $50,000.
